BytzGo Privacy Policy

BytzGo (“BytzGo”, “we”, “us”) provides an on-demand delivery and courier platform through our mobile application and website at https://www.bytzgo.net (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

• Account data: name, email address, phone number, password (stored in hashed form), user role (customer, rider, vendor, or admin), region, and profile details you provide.
• Location data: precise GPS location when you set pickup/drop-off, track a delivery, or go online as a rider. We collect location only when you use these features and the app has permission.
• Order and trip data: addresses, order items, prices, payment references, delivery status, trip PIN, and in-app chat messages related to an active order.
• Vendor data: shop name, category, product listings, and photos you upload.
• Rider verification: images of driver licence, Ghana card, and profile photo for safety review.
• Device data: push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send ride and order alerts when the app is closed.
• Sign-in with Google: if you choose Google Sign-In, we receive your Google account email and basic profile information from Google according to your Google account settings.

3. How we use your information

• Create and manage your account.
• Match customers with riders and vendors; show live maps and ETAs.
• Process payments and wallet top-ups (via third-party payment providers).
• Send transactional notifications (e.g. new delivery jobs, order updates, chat).
• Verify rider identity and maintain platform safety.
• Provide customer support and resolve disputes.
• Improve reliability, prevent fraud, and comply with law.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

We process personal data as necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), for legitimate interests (security and improvement), and where required by law. Where we rely on consent (e.g. optional permissions), you may withdraw consent in device settings.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information:

• Between users on a trip: customers, assigned riders, and relevant vendors see information needed to complete a delivery (e.g. name, phone, addresses, order details).
• Service providers who help us run the Service, including Google (Maps, Sign-In, Firebase), Paystack (payments), and cloud hosting. These providers process data under their own policies and our instructions.
• Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

6. Data retention

We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active and as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise personal data except where retention is required by law or where active orders prevent immediate deletion.

7. Security

We use HTTPS for data in transit and restrict access to production systems. No online service is completely secure; please use a strong password and notify us if you suspect unauthorised access.

8. Your rights and choices

• Access and update: edit profile details in the app.
• Permissions: you may deny location, notifications, or photo access in device settings; some features will not work.
• Delete account: in the app go to Profile → Delete account, or follow https://www.bytzgo.net/account-deletion. You may also email support@bytzgo.com from your registered address.
• Marketing: we do not send promotional email without consent; push alerts are transactional (orders and rides).

9. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data.

10. International transfers

Our servers and providers may process data outside Ghana. Where data is transferred, we take steps consistent with applicable law and use providers that maintain appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version at this URL and update the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
